'Future Imperative' Sculptures Highly Commended in SOTE Award

Both 'Future Imperative I' and 'Future Imperative II' received Highly Commended in the 2016 Sculpture on the Edge Award, exhibited at Spicers' Tamarind Retreat in Maleny.

The concept that we need to change from 'plastic humanity' to sustainable humanity is built into the construction of these pieces — recycled fiberglass figures with natural foliage applied with resin, then extensively painted with multiple coats of 2-pack finishes for weatherproofing and UV protection.

I positioned them to appear as a harmonic extension of their natural environment. The heavy steel bases are rustproofed and designed to sit at ground level; glass bases are available for interior display.
